Go beyond
positive thinking, acquire new thoughts from God's word and you will find
freedom from depression, oppression and anxiety.
It is true that positive thinking has an astounding impact on
your emotional, mental and physical wellbeing, yet positive thoughts
are all but impossible to produce when the dark cloud of depression
blocks your view of the sun.
In order to see the light of day, you're going to need some new material
to work with. Acquire some new thoughts through Biblical meditation and
prayer.
The thoughts we are "stuck" with come from the world around us.Spiritual Health Source
focuses on rising above worldly knowledge and beyond positive thinking so that we can cope with and
overcome the painful past.
What do we do? We learn to meditate God's word. After all,
you meditate on something all the time: financial problems, marital
problems, problems with our kids, physical illness, aging parents, you name
it. We are always thinking about something and usually it is our
problems and/or what we plan to do about them.
What does God think about our problems and more importantly, what does He
offer to do about them? That is what I want you to think about, or
meditate on. First, forget what the world has taught you about God.
Forget all of it! Get to know Him all over again. Learn to trust Him.

Borrowed Perspective:
To help you understand the need for going beyond positive thinking, I
urge you to read
"I think, therefore..."
for a detailed look at our thought life and the
role it plays. It is vital that you understand this.
One very important quote from the article:
"It is frightening to THINK about it, but our thoughts are really not our
own. Obviously, we take all of the input, toss it around, choose to believe
what we want and throw away the rest, but it is still a borrowed
perspective. In a sense, we are all connected into an invisible grid of
borrowed thoughts. I believe this grid, may be the world that Jesus called
us up and out of. You could almost rephrase Descartes' famous quote to 'The
World thinks, Therefore I am.'"
Now, that's frightening. What has the world taught
you about yourself? Never mind! Don't go there. Just get rid of
it.
