Healing Words

Healing words of encouragement always ease our pain and soothe our agitated frame of mind, but, if allowed, they can do far more than that. Often, when Jesus healed the sick, he did it by simply telling them their sins were forgiven.  They believed those healing words and went home mended and restored. There was no magic in it, other than the magical feeling of losing the burden of guilt and shame!

The good news is that nothing has changed.  Believers are still called to experience this same gift of grace, and live as though "it" never happened!

We can all experience the same healing that Jesus ministered on this earth, if we accept the same healing words:  Our sins are forgiven.  We must learn to lose the past, grasp who we are now and use the authority Christ has freely given us.  This is where we will find spiritual and physical healing.  We will live free from addictions, depression and oppression.  This is not my promise, it is God's promise to all who believe.

The book of Ephesians is a short book, absolutely crammed full of Biblical wisdom that takes us from living in the painful, sinful past to living in Christ, not through our own actions, but through the realization that the work is already done.

The first step in this healing journey is to stop taking steps.  We rest in Christ, no matter who we are or what we have done.  Rest!

Crosses
Another little book, full of healing words is Watchman Nee's "Sit, Walk, Stand."  It is a study based on Ephesians that explains the reality of a Christian's place (sit), purpose (walk) and power (stand).  You can purchase it by following this link:   Sit-Walk-Stand by Watchman Nee

A common misconception for Christians is that they have to become perfect in order to experience God's gifts of grace, mercy and healing.  The reality of Christianity is that we have to experience God's grace, mercy and healing, before we can become perfect (whole-lacking nothing).  Accepting His grace, His favor, is the first step toward freedom.  Mary accepted God's grace, responded to God's word, and her gift was delivered in full!

It doesn't matter what your past looks like OR what your present circumstances are.  If you are a believer, you can have victory over past, present and future as a complete, healthy child of God.  This is through the power of the cross, thus, The Easter Story.

The Easter Story is a series of pages that bring the powerful words from Ephesians and Sit, Walk, Stand into simple life application for every Christian.  We recommend you read both as you follow these articles.
