In these scriptures about meditation, Jesus commanded us to love God
with our heart, soul and mind. MIND! Getting to know Him,
and knowing His word is the only way we can live up to that commandment.
Once we live up to this, all of the others will fall into place.
Through knowledge of these scriptures about meditation, you can learn to
grow into a healthy, happy, productive person again!
Mat 22:37-38 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy
God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy
mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
Paul advised us to take control of our thought life through Christian
meditation.
Phi 4:6-8 Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in every thing
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be
made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall
keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Phi 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Paul seems to agree with us on the "thoughts coming from the
world" theory here.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is
that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Peter gives much comfort in 1 Peter, chapter one. He speaks of
faith being the means of our salvation, not deeds (thank God, because
non of us has earned it). You can consider this a scripture about
meditation, as it is his advice on protecting the
mind:
1Pe 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and
hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the
revelation of Jesus Christ;
