Looking for the Right Spiritual Warfare Book

While the Bible is the best Spiritual Warfare book available, there are many guides that can help you understand the horrible phenomenon that draws you toward unhealthy thoughts and actions.

Did you think you were the only one that experienced those strange urges?  Of course not.  Many Christians, including myself, struggle with random thoughts, that lead toward a negative end if left unchecked.

Spiritual warfare is nothing to be ashamed of or afraid of.  It is actually a Biblical part of being a follower of Christ, particularly to those of us with a past.

2 Corinthians 10: 3-6  For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

Some Recommended Reading

Watchman Nee has many books on being a spiritual believer.  His book, The Spiritual Man, addresses how we are made up and why we experience the battle.  It is very interesting and full of Biblical wisdom.

The Normal Christian Life, also by Nee, brings to light the fact that we all go through the battle and the steps that we must take to win.  It is based on the first 8 chapters of the book of Romans.

Dr. Neil Anderson is believed to be an expert on the topic.  His books, Bondage Breakers and Victory over the Darkness are two of the best books I have read on the topic.  There are specific steps you can take to break all ties from your own past which is a requirement for all Christians.

Seeing the Unseen, by Joe Beam is also an excellent Spiritual Warfare book.  It is so helpful to learn that others have experienced what you are going through.  You need to realize that you are not crazy.  The battle is real.  These true examples will help you understand the power that the enemy can hold over your mind.
