Stress Treatment from Within
Medical stress treatment can involve taking antidepressants, antianxiety medication and even antipsychotic drugs. These drugs
can cause many side effects, and some are very addictive. As an
alternative, there are
many herbal supplements, such as St. John's Wort and Valerian Root
that are said to aid in managing stress. I personally choose to
manage my stress from within. There are many things you can do to
relieve your stress naturally, and prayer should be at the top of your
list.

Deep Breathing Slows Down the Mind
Breath in and hold it for a count to at least 10. Let it out
slowly and do it again. This raises carbon dioxide in your blood
and lowers your heart rate. Breath in the Holy Spirit...Breath out
the Panic.
Kick Back and Read a Good Book
Grab a pair of ear phones and play some Terry McAlmon music softly.
My favorite is The Sounds of Heaven. Read your Bible while you
listen to the music.

Ask God to take you to a quite, spiritual
place.

Aromatherapy and a Hot Cup of Tea
Try mixing one or two of lavender, geranium, ylang-ylang,
bergamot and/or melissa oils together. Add several drops to a hot
bath or burn in a diffuser lamp. Don't forget the music and the
candles. Try a nice, hot cup of Chamomile Tea.
Meditate on God's Word for Stress Treatment
Give it to God and Let Go of the Reins
I have spoken with many people who live in extreme poverty
over the past year. One common misconception that they all
have in common is that God only helps those who help themselves.
Most also believe that they made their mess and therefore God
will not help them clean it up. These two common beliefs
couldn't be further from the truth.
Yes, we have to work and yes we have to pay our bills, but
God's word is full of promises that He will restore those who
return to Him and believe in Him.
Just these two scriptures from the book of Psalms promise a
rescue, recovery from our distresses simply because we believe
in God and love him. It says clearly, "Because he hath set
his love up me...," not "Because he helps himself and
stands on his own two feet..."
If you feel you need stress treatment, write down these
scriptures. Trust in God and let Him bring the answers to
you. Don't be impatient. It's all coming in His
time.

Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he
delivered them from their distress.
